Well, this morning her weight was back down again 😞 293 grams.
Last night however, she showed more interest in food since this all began. I was making foraging balls for the gang with unshelled almonds on the inside and she decided they looked so good she tipped the container and dove in head first! I was so excited to see this much interest and I'm truly hoping we have turned a corner, the next few days will tell the truth. I even made her a treat basket and put it in her cage last night and sure enough she dug in this morning. We did formula for breakfast and she ate more then normal, a good 15 ml or so and will be doing eggs for lunch, which is her favorite. Then I'll do another feeding later and leave her with lots of goodies while I'm working, I'll be coming home on my break to medicate and do the formula.

It has been a while since my last post and even longer since this all started and I only have positivity to share. Puff is getting .02 ml of meds every morning, and only in the morning. So she gets one dose only, every morning with her breakfast, no evening dose and she is doing so amazing. The reason I chose to try cutting out the evening dose was because she was falling from her sleeping perch during the night, and most nights. Because I'm a very light sleeper I would hear her flap and get up to find her on the bottom of her cage looking stunned and a bit dazed. After moving her into my room to sleep so I could better observe, the conclusion I came to was the med was puting her into a very deep sleep and she lost balance control and/or fell as she was relaxing so much into a deep sleep. After stopping the evening dose I was no longer having this issue and she continued to leave all of her feathers in tact. One other thing I decided to do is every other Sunday she gets a med fre...
Today is Wednesday August 24th and Puff had her yearly check up and we also did a full blood panel to have a starting point for everything. Tomorrow I will get the results of all these tests. So at 5 pm I gave her the first dose of halidol, I then watched her for the next half hour and there was no effect at all. I will continue this dose for the next two days and see how it goes, I will slowly increase every two days until I get to what is the desired effect. I am following the protocol set up by Dr. Jeffrey Jenkins DVM, with some assistance from a wonderfully nice and educated friend, Don Scott of The Chloe Sanctuary for Parrots and Cockatoos.  This is a picture taken of her on Saturday, to show her current FDB which includes the legs, chest and neck. she chews her feathers, she does not pluck. She also does not chew her skin.
It's been almost a year now, and Puff is almost fully feathered. It is truly amazing the difference that has happened, not just to her feathers though. She just truly seems more relaxed and happier, she shows more confidence in new situations, which is honestly quite amazing to watch. I brought her next door to my mom's house and she made herself right at home, she hopped right off my shoulder and started wandering around the table and a counter between the kitchen and living room. Simply checking things out all along the way, a confidence I enjoyed watching with a huge smile on my face and pride in my heart. She interacts so much more with me as well, she also puts up with the tiels so much better, without incident in quite some time now. She vocalizes so much more, much like she used to do, before any issues happened. She also chooses to be in the same room with the other birds and myself during the day again, instead of choosing to avoid any interactions with me or other bi...
